  • Remove any paintballs from your marker
  • Point the marker in a SAFE direction and visually, then mechanically check that there are no paintballs in the marker
  • Detach the power supply (air or C02 source) and shoot the marker a number of times in the safe direction
  • Continue to de-gas the marker until there is no pressure left anywhere in the marker.
  • Detach the barrel of the marker.
  • Keeping your goggles on, commence work on your marker

Product Description

The EVO 15 Degree Front Regulator Mount (FRM) for the EGO is an angled regulator mount for the Eclipse EGO that provides a forward angle of 15 degrees of the main front mounted regulator. This forward angle provides more space between the grip frame and the regulator making the marker more comfortable whilst running and shooting and helping provide a lower profile awarded to the opposition whilst aiming and shooting your marker.

Prerequisites

The fitting of this part requires a HIGH degree of competency in mechanical work. We recommend that you seek professional advice or services from a qualified airsmith.

Required tools and spare parts

  • 5/32" Allen Key
  • 1/8" Allen Key
  • 3/16" Allen Key
  • Dentist's pick
  • Needle Nose pliers

Removal of Part

  • Fully de-gas the marker, including firing MULTIPLE shots after the air source has been disconnected to make sure that the regulator has been FULLY depressurised.
  • Disconnect the macro-line between the front regulator and the bottom line ASA.
  • Unscrew the front regulator from the existing FRM.
  • Use the 5/32" allen key to remove all three grip screws from the right hand grip frame panel (the side that is on the right hand side of the marker when the marker is viewed from the rear).
  • Open the grip panel and locate the two plugs that attach the eye wires and solenoid wires to the circuit board. Disconnect these wires.
  • Use the 1/8" allen key to remove the two allen bolts securing the grip fame to the main body.
  • Remove the grip frame from the body of the marker.
  • Place a hand over the LPR at the front of the marker. Carefully use the 3/16" allen key to remove the bolt that secures the FRM to the valve body.
  • Gently remove the valve body and LPR assembly from the front of the maker. Be aware that this will also free the main valve spring and the valve to come out of the body.
  • Use the pick to CAREFULLY lever the low pressure hosing from the barb on the FRM. If the hosing becomes punctured, split or damaged in any way at this point then it will need to be replaced.

Installation of Part

  • Use the needle nose pliers to hold the low pressure hosing close to the free end. Push the hosing that extends from the front of the manifold over the barb on the FRM as far as possible
  • Swap the three O rings from the old FRM into the top face of the angled FRM. There should be three O rings, these are; a single 014 O Ring and two 004 O Rings. These form the sealing gasket arrangement between the FRM and the Valve Body. Asses them for damage and replace if required.
  • Replace the valve into the lower bore of the body from the front of the marker and ensure that it is seated correctly into the rammer body.
  • Insert the Valve spring onto the back of the valve.
  • Slide the Valve Body and LPR assembly (should still be one part) into the lower bore and ensure that the pocket in the valve body is correctly orientated and aligned with the hole in the body.
  • Insert the 15 Degree FRM into the pocket in the body of the marker so that it seats directly onto the valve body. Ensure that the O Rings provide the correct seal between the two components.
  • Insert the FRM retaining bolt and "nip up" WITH THE LONG END OF THE 3/16 ALLEN KEY.
  • USING THE SHORT END OF THE 3/16" ALLEN KEY, CAREFULLY TIGHTEN UP THE FRM RETAINING SCREW USING 90 DEGREE TURNS, THAT IS 45 DEGREES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FACING DIRECTLY FORWARDS OF THE MARKER. If you consider a line running along the centre underside of the marker and out the front of the marker as a datum line, then use the allen key between -45 and +45 degrees. This will prevent the allen key from damaging the 15 Degree FRM. This technique is not required if you are using a long reach "T-bar" type allen key.
  • Pass the wires through the top of the grip frame and plug the eye wire and solenoid wire sockets into the Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
  • Align the grip frame with the body and gently push the two parts together, If the low pressure hosing is preventing the two parts from mating then use an allen key to gently guide the hosing into the relief channel. The same applies to the eye wires.
  • Insert the two grip frame screws and tighten with a 1/8" allen key.
  • Replace the three grip panel screws using the 5/32" allen key. Be very careful not to over tighten these grip frame screws, especially the rear ones where there is a chance of damaging the solenoid.
  • Replace the main front regulator.
  • Replace the macro-line hosing.
  • CAREFULLY re-gas the marker whilst it is pointed in a safe direction.

Notes

This part should be installed by a qualified airsmith. If you are attempting to install it yourself please take care. Make sure of the following important item:
  • YOU MUST FULLY DE-GAS YOUR MARKER BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY WORK ON THE ITEM. BE AWARE THAT THE MARKER WILL STILL STORE PRESSURE ON THE MARKER SIDE OF THE REGULATOR EVEN ONCE AN AIR BOTTLE HAS BEEN REMOVED. ONCE REMOVING THE AIR BOTTLE, BE SURE TO FIRE THE MARKER UNTIL NO MOVEMENT OCCURS FROM THE MARKER.
  • Be aware of the tightening method when replacing the bolt that secures the FRM to the valve body to avoid any damage to the item.
