Hostage!  North V South Big game 2008

Back  this year, is the warped sports big game, Hostage.

Its being held once again at the amazing Heart Of England Conference centre. For those of you who have missed the last two years ( shame on you! ) this place is great, with not only a good sized site, but great mini night club for fun and games the night before.

This year the main event was held on Sunday 16 September at Powerplay Paintball near Wakefield, with the players party on the Saturday night.
 

"The last four years have seen the “goodies” and “baddies” of both Staargate and Staar Wars battle for the supremacy of the Universe. This year the “goodies” of both Staar Wars and Staargate will battle against the “baddies” to achieve the ultimate supremacy of the Universe. This is the FINAL CONFLICT!"

As usual this game was amazing fun, a great end the starwars/stargate themes, cant wait to see whats planned for next year.

New for this year was the Timewars scenario, based on the long running TV series, Doctor Who.

This was held at Campaign Paintball (near Guildford, Surry) on Sunday October 7th.

This game was different to most other big games I have played in that different fields on the site were separate, and represented other "time zones " in the scenario, with these zones opening and closing during the day, with 2-3 open at any one time. this worked well as was a nice change.

All I spoke to had a amazing time, with the players party the night before ( with free booze!! and food ) and a great fun days play with amazing props, these guys spent a huge amount of time and money on this game.

200 or so players came this year, hopefully it will have even more support next year.

“Staargate” is a scenario based paintball event organized by Gillie and
Andy Hatton from the PBUK and Steve Bull from the UKPS
 and Powerplay Paintball Ltd. This is the sixth year we have
 organized an event with South Park and Star Wars being the previous themes."

As usual, a  great fun and enjoyable time had by all I encountered. MASSIVE thanks to Gillie, Hatts and Bully.

Had great fun being the Replicator, "You are now replicators, come to me!!!"  heh.

Already looking forward to next year.
